Chutney Pudi aka Gunpowder

All purpose masala powder

Chutney Pudi/powder is a lentil-based recipe used in South India along with Rice, Idli, Dosas, and many more. This recipe is so versatile that it can be used with almost any food.

Desiccated coconut Flakes, Red Chilli, Tamarind 2pcs, Urad dal, Channa dal, Curry Leaves, 1/2 Tbsp Jaggery, Coriander seeds, Sesame Seeds, Turmeric.

Ingredients Required

Dry Roast & Pan Fry

To begin with, dry roast, sesame seeds until golden brown, Then add a Tbsp of oil and pan-fry Urad dal & Chana dal.

Further, Pan-fry the curry leaves, Red chilies on low flame till it turns golden brown.

Add the Coconut Flakes and saute till it turns golden brown.

Blend all the ingredients together

Blend it up

Add the tamarind pieces, Jaggery & Turmeric to the jar and blend it to a coarse powder or fine powder as per your preference

Chutney Pudi ready!

You can also add Asafoetida for enhanced taste.
